The SUP flat water racing events are hosted by Newcastle Stand Up Paddle Club and held over one day within the calm waters of Throsby Creek. 

Long race course: 6 km   Map 
Short race course: 1,500 metres  Map

The 1500 metre race is ideal for those keen to join in the fun of racing. The 6 km race is suited to those with more athletic durance and ready to go the next step in the SUP race experience.

Exhibitors tents will set up from 8 am and showcasing SUP boards, accessories and related equipment.  

Free board testing and demonstrations will be provided by exhibitors.

Free learn to SUP clinics will be conducted will be held throughout the day courtesy of Core Four, the local learn to SUP school. The clinics are open to the general public. Newcastle Stand Up Paddle Club will be providing information and benefits on joining the club.

Food, sausage sizzle also available, making it a great day out.

Free entry for spectators.

Age at 31st December of the year event is held.

14 foot and over unlimited (rudders allowed)
14 foot and under (fixed fins)
12 foot 6 inch
12 foot and under (non race board)

1st, 2nd, 3rd trophies.
Hive Swimwear vouchers for girls,in 6km and 1500 metre races.   Hive - swimwear that sticks.

Program - Flat Water Long Course Race (6 kms) 
1 race. 3 laps (loop).    All classes and divisions race together.  5 minute staggered starts for each class.
8.00 am  Registration
8.30 am Safety briefing
9.00 am  Start.

Program - Flat Water Short Course (1500 metres)
4 separate races.  2 laps. 
Safety briefing all races:  11 am
Race 1:  11.30 pm 14' & over unlimited
Race 2:  12.15 pm 14' & under (fixed fins)
Race 3:  1.00 pm 12'6" class
Race 4:  1.45 pm  12' & under (non race board)
Presentations:  3.00 pm

*Note: Races may be combined, all participants to be at safety briefing at 11 am and race update.

Registration & Entry 
Entry closing date: 23 April 2012
Long race: fee: $30 (one division).  $10 extra division.
Short race: fee:  $20 (one division).   $5 extra division

 
Entry Conditions
Entry is open.
Membership:  Must be a SUPA member or a SUPA affiliated SUP club member.

Leg-ropes compulsory and must be worn at all times.
